Now in our 23rd year performing live from Times Square NYC and touring nationwide, EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH Improv Comedy started as the vision of Executive Producer, Laurice Fattal, and Artistic Director Walt Frasier. While today’s shows have many new faces, the heart and soul of 8 Improv carries on with a piece from dozens of talent performers, amazing souls on and off the stage, in and out of the classroom. We also must not forget the 1000s of students, patrons and clients have shaped the course of our lives and careers. You all are our chosen family.

Member since 2002, Laurice Fattal has been performing in theatre, music concerts, and stage shows since the age of 10. She originally began writing scripts and composing music through her own vocal group in high school. She continued to pursue her passion for the performing arts in college through studies in theatrical production, acting, music and opera. She has worked in casting, directing, and writing with professional companies based out of NYC, MD and DC. Laurice has written and performed in dozens of sketch comedy digital shorts for LMAONYC. Other credits include the Indie short mockumentary: P.O.O.P: The Movie, Writer/Director of The Top 8 at Eight (original web series). Musicals/Operas: Amahl and the Night Visitors (Riverside Opera NYC), 27 Santa’s & and Elf Called Kevin , Alice in Wonderland – A New Musical, The Phantom Tollbooth – By Sheldon Harnick, The Lounge @ Under St. Marks. In addition to developing the concept for “Eight is NEVER enough!”, she is thrilled to be the co-founder of “IMPROV 4 Kids!” and Bully Assemblies NY – both are outreach programs that currently tour K-12 school.

Member since 2009, Amelia Fowler has been seen on or in POSE, Survival of the Thickest, Law & Order: SVU, The Many Saints of Newark, GLAAD award winning play She Like Girls, her one woman show Flozetta and awaits the release of the movie “The Bride.”

Member since 2002, Walt Frasier has 30+ years of professional credits in comedy, Theater (off-Broadway, National tours, Opera) and music. He got his big break in TV performing comedy sketches on MTV’s Stankervision, Late Nite with David Letterman, TruTV’s Friends of the People, and most recently on HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay. As an actor, Frasier has appeared on NBC’s Blacklist, CBS’s Blue Bloods, USA’s Royal Pains (Filmed in Puerto Rico), Netflix’s Lilyhammer (filmed in Norway, directed by Steven Van Zandt) and NICK’s Naked Brothers Band. In addition to 1000s of live performances around the world, Frasier has also appeared in numerous commercials, industrials, webisodes and reality TV shows.

Member since 2012, Liz Lord… After receiving her theater degree from Earlham College, Liz came to the city to act, direct, and teach. Favorite roles include Ophelia in Hamlet, Liz in Chicago, and She in The Loveliest Afternoon of the Year. Liz serves as casting director and leads most of our NYC public shows and class programs but often joins us on the road.

Member since 2017, Samuel Van Wyk is an actor/improvisor based in New York City. As an improviser, Samuel has performed for thousands of students and adults. He has also lead Improvisational workshops for all ages from kindergarten students to senior executives and everything in between. Samuel has lead workshops on the benefit of improv in a business setting for professionals in the education and medical field as well as corporate clients like IBM, Bing, and JP Morgan.As an actor, Samuel works in TV, Film, and Theatre. Samuel has appeared in such TV shows as Evil Talks, Diabolical, and Mysteries at the Museum. Favorite stage roles include Malcolm (The Full Monty), Hal (Proof),and Snoopy (You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown!).
