START EVERY SCENE BY MAKING SIMPLE CHOICES: WHO, WHERE, WHAT. Don’t try to be funny or clever. Just keep making simple choices about character, relationship, location, and actions, and then YES AND your team’s choices.

PHYSICALLY PLAY THOSE CHOICES: Embody with pantomime and character acting to bring each simple choice alive.

GIVE US A WHY!!! MAKE THINGS HAPPEN! Don’t just talk about “STUFF.” Discover your characters, locations, and engage in action. Dig a little deeper.

BE CURIOUS! Always ask yourself WHAT IF! Get excited about the unknown, never fear it.

DON’T STOP! DON’T MAKE THE FACE! Stay in the moment. Stay in character. 360 visualize your imaginary world around you. Focus on the story. Don’t give up on yourself. Don’t give up on your team. Don’t give up on the scene.

EMBRACE THE WEIRD AND EXTRAORDINARY! Suspend judgment. Skip the fear. Jump right to the YES! Fight the all-too-natural urge to question your scene partner’s choice, and say YES! DUH, OF COURSE, THAT IS TRUE!

LEAD BY EXAMPLE! If you want people to smile at you, if you want your team to support you, and if you want the world to be a better place, LEAD BY EXAMPLE! I cannot guarantee all will follow suit, but when you LEAD, your world is a much happier place.
